Talk is cheap. I’ve heard a lot of talk about the Islamic faith in the past several years. I’ve heard everything from Muslims are pure evil to Muslims are the embodiment of all that is good and pure in the world.

As with most things pertaining to a group of people sharing a religion, I believe the truth about Muslims lies somewhere between the two extremes. Like Christianity, Judaism, or any other religion, there will be followers across the spectrum.But one thing that most, if not all, Muslims share is the mistreatment of women. From subtle derogation to death by stoning, it is clear that Muslim women are not held in the same regard as Muslim men in the Islamic world.

Looks like Pakistanis overwhelming approve of killing apostate from Islam, according to a release of polling data by the Pew Attitude Survey: three in four surveyed favor a death penalty for those who leave Islam.

3 Republican congressmen reveal president secretly spent $23 million

An investigation by three Republican congressmen has revealed the Obama administration has secretly spent $23 million of U.S. taxpayer dollars in Kenya to fund a “Yes” vote on a constitutional referendum scheduled for Aug. 4 that would increase access to abortions in Kenya and establish legal status for Islamic law tribunals.

Meanwhile, trusted sources in Kenya tell WND that the White House has used Vice President Joseph Biden’s trip to Kenya in June and the office of U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Michael E. Ranneberger to put out the message that passage of the referendum would enable the White House to open the floodgates to allow millions of dollars of additional U.S. government aid and private investment capital to flow into Kenya.

Last week, in response to inquiries from Reps. Chris Smith, R-N.J., Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., and Darrell Issa, R-Calif., the U.S. Agency for International Development admitted to spending more than $23 million of U.S. taxpayer money to influence voters in Kenya to pass the highly contentious constitution.

So in case you missed it, al Qaeda has a brand new magazine. Yes, really. Just when publishing titans like Hearst and Conde Nast have closed the doors on classics such as Gourmet and O At Home and Newsweek struggles for its future, our friends at al Qaeda headquarters have come up with Inspire, an English-language, online publication aimed at turning Muslims in the English-speaking (Western) world toward violent jihad.

Cover lines promise to instruct readers on how to “Make a bomb in the kitchen of your Mom,” while columns praise the efforts of “Christmas Bomber” Umar al Faruk and Fort Hood killer Nidal Hassan. Quoting the Koran, the letter from the (anonymous) editor that inaugurates Inspire’s first issue explains the mission of the magazine: “Toward making the Muslim a mujahid in Allah’s path.” Because “jihad has been deconstructed in our age,” the editor continues, “its revival in comprehension and endeavor is of utmost importance for the Caliphate’s manifestation.” Later in the magazine, a statement by the editorial staff declares, “Wherever there are mujahidin, there is danger awaiting the disbelievers.”

Hamas leader killed in Israeli airstrike

GAZA: A leading member of Hamas was killed and eight others were injured in Israeli airstrikes on three targets in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources confirmed on Saturday.  The airstrikes took place late on Friday.

Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ armed wing, announced that one of its leaders, Issa Abdul-Hadi Al-Batran, 40, died in the strike at the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Medical sources said that eight Palestinians had been injured in the strike, aimed at a training compound of Hamas security forces.
Hamas security sources said that the Israeli jet carried out two other strikes on the eastern and southern Gaza Strip. It has been the most lethal strike from Israeli forces in months.
