Report: Talks Between U.S. And Taliban Falter As Taliban Refuses Cease-Fire

Commentary by Jim Campbell
This is nothing but another attempted face-saving charade on behalf of the clueless Obama Administration as they desperately go to their usual strategy of  “cut and run.”
While US negotiators  come home and talk of victory the entire world knows the US has sold out the Afghan people and they will soon be once again under the oppression of Shari law.
These guy live to fight and are prepared to do so for the rest of their wretched lives.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.

One bit of good news in this is that the U.S. actually demanded substantive action from the Taliban and not just words, as prior reports implied. An update on this story. “US, Taliban talks on prisoner swap falter,” by Mustaf Yusufzai for NBC News January 29:

A temporary cease fire?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Talks between the Afghan Taliban and the United States in Qatar almost failed as the Taliban leadership reportedly refused to accept the U.S. demand of a ceasefire before swapping prisoners.

Sources in the Afghan Taliban said the Taliban had set up an office in Qatar hoping that it would help in a prisoners’ swap, especially for their five top commanders held at the Guantanamo Bay base since 2002.

The Taliban sources said their talks with the U.S. had been going for the past few years in exchange for an American soldier, Bowe Bergdahl, captured by Taliban militants in Afghanistan’s Paktika province in June 2009, bordering Pakistan’s South Waziristan.

13 Year-Old Girl Trained By Taliban to Be Suicide Bomber

The Future of Afghanistan

by sheikyermami

Motherly Love:

IRAQI security forces have arrested a woman whose boyfriend convinced her to send her little boy on a suicide mission and then failed to stop the attack after she had a change of heart.

She was arrested in Diyala province, while the boyfriend, Hamid Alwan, 53, was detained in Baghdad.

According to the officer, Alwan convinced Obaidi to send nine-year-old Murtada Latif Kadhem to bomb a Shi’ite mosque in Khales, north of Baghdad, several years ago.

Sunni widow Suad al-Obaidi, 47, was arrested on Friday along with her allegedly al-Qaeda boyfriend, a Diyala police officer said.

Alwan “took her son with her … by car to the Shi’ite mosque but, on the way there, she started to cry about her son,” the officer said.

“He put her out of the car, and took the son, who was wearing an explosive belt, to the mosque, where he blew himself up.”

On Thursday, a suicide bomber and a car bomb targeted Sahwa militiamen near Baquba, north of Baghdad, killing five people and wounding 26, an army officer and a doctor said.

US Hurries to Strengthen Ties With Pakistan Amid Strategic Withdrawal Preparations

Big Peace

World politics is a peculiar game. It often leaves countries with strange bedfellows. That is exactly what is playing out between the US and Pakistan. As the US prepares to lighten its footprint in Afghanistan, it is turning to its only partner to help secure its flank, Pakistan. The immediate problem is of course Pakistan’s dubious nature.

Both the Pakistani Government and its rogue, Inter Services Intelligence agency (ISI), have plagued US efforts in fighting terrorist networks in Afghanistan. The ISI has withheld information, outright lent assistance to, and turned a blind-eye toward terrorists’ operations that have lead to American deaths.

From Tunisia To The Justice Department: A Clean Sweep For Islam

Big Peace

H/T Doc Katz

Posted by Clare M. Lopez

Across a vast expanse of the Muslim world, from Tunisia to Pakistan, the forces of Islam are rising. Tunisian voters have given the Al Nahda (Muslim Brotherhood) party a dominant position in the national assembly that will write the country’s new constitution. In Libya, Chairman of the National Transitional Council, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, has declared he seeks to make Islamic law the basis for legislation.

In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood campaigns under the slogan, “Islam is the Solution” as Coptic Christians face the worst persecution in decades. Israel just released hundreds of Palestinian terrorists with blood on their hands to ransom Gilad Shalit, an IDF hostage long held by HAMAS in Gaza.

In Syria, Bashar al-Assad’s Alawite dictatorship faces a motley opposition grimly determined to bring it down. With United States (U.S.) backing, the Turks have arranged that most members of the just announced Syrian National Council are Muslim Brothers or like-minded shariah-promoters.

Afghanistan to back Pakistan if wars with U.S.: Karzai

Comment by Jim Campbell

It is axiomatic among the Arab culture to lie.  Arab lying, is an echo from the past, as made clear by an early Islamic theologian: “We must lie when truth leads to unpleasant results.”  The Arab Mind

“It is sometimes a duty to lie.” “If a lie is the only way to reach a good result, it is allowable. Lying, therefore, has been a normal, integral, prevalent and perfectly acceptable facet of Arab culture since time immemorial.

No only “White Man Speak with Forked Tongue,” it is the norm in the Arab mind.

Until the West, its leaders and its politicians understand the full implications of this reflex action of the Arab mind when dealing with members of the Arab world, they can never hope to arrive at the results they aim for. So often one reads statements made by prominent politicians to the effect that it is not what is said by Arab leaders in Arabic that counts, but what they say publicly in English. Such statements are not only naive, but also completely absurd. When push comes to shove, it is only what is said in Arabic that contains the truth.

Believe it when you see it actually happen. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.

ISLAMABAD — Afghanistan would support Pakistan in case of military conflict between Pakistan and the United States, Afghan President Hamid Karzai said in an interview to a private Pakistani TV channel broadcast on Saturday.

The remarks were in sharp contrast to recent tension between the two neighbors over cross-border raids, and Afghan accusations that Pakistan was involved in killing the chief Afghan peace envoy, former Afghan president Burhanuddin Rabbani, by a suicide bomber on September 20.

“God forbid, If ever there is a war between Pakistan and America, Afghanistan will side with Pakistan,” he said in the interview to Geo television.

“If Pakistan is attacked and if the people of Pakistan needs Afghanistan’s help, Afghanistan will be there with you.”

Legitimizing Cold Blooded Murderers; The New Rave!

Big Peace

There is barely a day that passes without the drone-like reminder that the world we now live in is riddled with the carnage left by the blood lusting and demonically influenced hordes in our midst. One would think that after 10 years of studying and fighting this enemy, we might actually have  a firm understanding of him and have determined how best to defeat him.

The Taliban:  not so bad?

We certainly should have been able to determine what doesn’t work.

Instead, we unilaterally placed a “governor” on our force projection which presumed to increase trust and goodwill amongst the Afghan population by reducing civilian casualties. In so doing, we necessarily extended the need for US forces there into perpetuity. And we did this based on a faulty presumption; that the average Afghan did not agree – to greater degree, with the Taliban. It also almost by necessity assumes then that the average Afghan does not see us as anything other than good people coming to the rescue.

Islam the cult of love sharia death

By Daily Mail Reporter

Proof for the politically correct druids that call themselves leaders in the US that Islam is the Cult of Death. It isn’t a religion it’s a cult. Sharia must be codified, as crimes against humanity and for get the confusion that this is a First Amendment issue.  J.C.

  • TALIBAN SPOKESMAN: ‘Anyone who knows about Islam knows that stoning is in the Koran, and that it is Islamic law. There are people who call it inhuman – but in doing so they insult the Prophet. They want to bring foreign thinking to this country’

WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT

Horrific video footage has emerged of Taliban insurgents stoning a couple to death for alleged adultery in northern Afghanistan.

Hundreds of villagers can be seen on the video standing around as the woman, Siddqa, is buried up to her waist in a four foot hole in the ground.

Two mullahs pass sentence before the crowd begins to throw rocks at her head and body as she desperately tries to crawl free.

But the 19-year-old collapses to the ground, covered in blood – but miraculously still alive.

At this point a Taliban fighter shoots her three times in the head with an AK-47The crowd can be heard shouting allahu akbar as she is killed.

Her lover, Khayyam, is then marched in front of the crowd with his hands tied behind his back.

He is blindfolded with his own tunic and crouches down close to the ground as he tried to protect his body from the stones.

But he is battered to the floor by a barrage of rocks. He can be heard sobbing before eventually falling silent.

The stoning – the first to be documented on film since the Taliban were ousted from power – took place in the district of Dashte Archi, in Kunduz, last August.

Officials said that Siddqa had run away after being sold into an arranged marriage for $9,000 against her will.

She ran away to be with Khayyam, who was already married and had two children, and the pair eloped to Pakistan.

It was a terrible mistake. They were dragged from their families’ homes at 2am by Taliban fighters and then put before a kangaroo court before being executed.

The incident took place last October near the Afghan border with Tajikstan, a conservative district with a heavy extremist presence.

The area remains under Taliban control, but regional police have said those behind the stoning will be charged.

Police chief General Daoud Daoud told the BBC: ‘Special police investigators will be sent there, we will find them and they will be brought to justice.’

Most of the video has not been shown because it was too graphic.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid defended the stoning.

He told the BBC: ‘Anyone who knows about Islam knows that stoning is in the Koran, and that it is Islamic law.

‘There are people who call it inhuman – but in doing so they insult the Prophet. They want to bring foreign thinking to this country.’

The Real Truth About Al Qaeda in Afghanistan

By James Gordon Meek

CounterTerrorismBlog

Ever since senior Obama administration advisers such as CIA Director Leon Panetta and Vice President Biden admitted that Al Qaeda’s presence in Afghanistan was minimal, with fewer than 100 operatives believed to be on the ground there, war critics have complained the President has little justification for escalating the U.S. commitment there.

But the inside-the-Beltway political debate underscores a fundamental misunderstanding of what Al Qaeda’s role in Afghanistan — which Osama Bin Laden’s minions call “Khorasan” — truly has been, according to Special Operations commanders and troops on the ground.

US Predator strike kills 6 in North Waziristan

By Bill Roggio

The US has carried out its second Predator airstrike inside Pakistan’s tribal areas this month, killing six people, including several “foreigners.”

The strike took place today in the village of Anghar Kala, just outside of Miramshah, the main town in Pakistan’s Taliban-controlled tribal agency of North Waziristan. AFP reported that two vehicles were the targets of the attack, while Geo News claimed that four missiles were fired from Predators or the more more deadly Reapers and struck a compound and a vehicle.

Strike takes place in Haqqani Network territoryThe village of Anghar Kala is in the sphere of influence of the Haqqani Network, a Taliban group led by mujahedeen commander Jalaluddin Haqqani and his son Siraj. The Haqqanis are closely allied to al Qaeda and to the Taliban, led by Mullah Omar. Siraj Haqqani is the leader of the Miramshah Regional Military Shura, one of the Taliban’s top four commands. In addition, Siraj sits on the Taliban’s Quetta Shura and is also a member of al Qaeda’s Shura Majlis. The Haqqanis are based on both sides of the Afghan-Pakistani border, and operate primarily in the Afghan provinces of Khost, Paktia, and Paktika.

Afghan Clerics Seek Return To Strict Islamic Law

Reuters:

KABUL (Reuters) – Afghanistan’s largest gathering of clerics, who met to discuss reconciliation with the Taliban, has called for the revival of strict Islamic law as the country seeks ways to win militants away from a growing insurgency.

About 350 of the Islamic clerics, or ulema, met for three days this week, the meeting ending with a declaration calling on President Hamid Karzai to enact sharia, or Islamic law, including punishments such as stonings, lashing, amputation and execution.

U.S. Weapons Sale to Saudi Arabia Said to Reach $60 Billion

By Tony Capaccio

My Comment: If this proposal fits the Obama administration’s strategy of buttressing the defense capabilities of Middle East allies to counter Iran’s growing offensive missile might and suspected nuclear weapons program what’s missing?

How can the all things Islam current POTUS be sure Saudi Arabia will continue to remain an allie? Is he so fundamentally lacking in  U.S. Military History of Afghanistan  that our funding and support of the mujahideen against the Soviets, has resulted in those weapons among others being used against U.S. Military in the current theaters of operation?
Has the entire administration forgotten that during the Shah the United States and Iran were the strongest of allies?  All it took was the meddling of another inept U.S. President, Jimmy Carter who didn’t like the Shah’s human rights positions to have him removed in place of the  Aytaollah Homani to bring down upon the Iranian people a strict theocracy and resultant Sharia Law.

After all, the Saudis are the biggest supporters of funding of Wahhabism, a particularly  rigid form of Islam which is rooted in Saudi Arabia. Around the world, Saudi wealth and charities contributed to an explosive growth of madrassas.
How can anyone with a functioning mind not see the parallel between the not so distant past and the future?
A single caveat:  With Obama, it could just be another case of follow the money.
J.C.
A proposed U.S. weapons sale to Saudi Arabia of Boeing Co. F-15 fighter jets also includes as many as 132 Boeing Apache attack helicopters and United Technologies Corp. UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters that bring the total value of the package to around $60 billion, according to a government official familiar with the plan.
