Bangladesh: Islamic Cleric Threatens Jihad If Child Marriage Is Banned

Jihad Watch

H/T Women Against Sharia

Let’s hear it for Mo’s cult of peace and compassion.

From Jihad Watch:

Surely, Islamic apologists in the West will get right on the line to this guy and explain that, no, Muhammad’s youngest wife, Aisha, was 16, 18, didn’t know how old she was, was only “nine” in Galapagos tortoise-years, or whatever other excuse they might cook up.

The problem? Islamic texts and traditions say otherwise, and Muslims follow them. Indeed, the heart of the problem is this: Muhammad married a child. The example of Muhammad, “a beautiful pattern of conduct” according to Qur’an 33:21, cannot be set aside, or standards he set “updated,” lest one imply Muhammad made a mistake. That would not only insult Muhammad (things seem to become flammable when that happens) but go against the Qur’an’s endorsement of him, and therefore Allah’s.

Another Rally In Pakistan In Favor Of Blasphemy Law, This Time Pakistanis Condemn Pope

Women Against Shariah
A billion-plus Muslims, savagely and unsuspectingly attacked by an octogenarian pontiff! Casting their grievances in those terms is, of course, an attempt to broaden the conflict beyond Pakistan, by portraying the Pope’s criticism of the law as an attack on all Muslims. “Rally supports governor’s killer,” from the Press Association, January 14:

Piety

Islamic extremists have rallied in support of the confessed killer of a liberal Pakistani governor and protested against Pope Benedict XVI for urging the scrapping of blasphemy laws stipulating death for those who insult Islam.

Women Against Shariah

The Canada Free Press:

BAGHDAD — Suspected Sunni militants took aim again at Baghdad’s dwindling Christian community, setting off a dozen roadside bombs Wednesday and sending terrified families into hiding behind a church where walls are still stained from blood from an attack nearly two weeks ago.

Five people were killed and 20 were wounded in the bombings and mortar attacks that targeted Christians across the city, police and hospital officials said. Iraqi Christians are already reeling after the earlier attack on a Sunday Mass service left 68 people dead, and many are now wondering whether it’s time to leave their homeland.

At a house on the grounds of Our Lady of Salvation Church, Karim Patros Thomas was under no illusion that the community is under siege.

Women Against Sharia

From Asia News:

Her labourer husband took out a loan to have his sick father undergo medical treatment. Muslim landlord who owns the debt now wants repayment; to achieve his goal, he threatened and insulted the family, calling them “lowlife” who “will always be our slave” because “We Muslims are superior to any other religion.” Initially, police refused to intervene and file a complaint about the abduction.

Kasur (AsiaNews) – A group of Muslims abducted a Christian woman, mother of two, because her husband failed to repay a loan he had contracted because of his poverty. The Muslim creditor threatened to seize his wife and children and use them as slaves if the debt was not paid in time. Two days ago, he, his children and other family members organised a sit-in (pictured) demanding that police intervene, but so far, it has failed to lift one finger to free the woman. The incident occurred in Fatehpuh Kasur (Kasur District), about 100 kilometres from Punjab’s capital Lahore.

by Women Against Shariah

Interestingly enough the Ahmediyya Muslims, who are often persecuted and hated by other Muslims, do not preach jihad.

From The Jakarta Globe (Indonesia):

As Muslims nationwide count down the days until the start of the holy month of Ramadan, so are followers of Ahmadiyah, but for a very different reason.

Members of the controversial sect are currently living in fear of a repeat attack by hard-liners in the lead-up to Ramadan, one member told the Jakarta Globe on Thursday.
