The recent arrest of two Iranians in Kenya on suspicion of plotting bomb attacks has heightened fears that Tehran is widening its covert war against Israel and the United States as Washington expands its secret intelligence operations across Africa.

The Iranians have rarely mounted major covert or intelligence operations in Africa, although they have used Sudan as a key conduit for weapons destined for the Palestinian Hamas militants and their allies in the Gaza Strip in recent years.

Report: Talks Between U.S. And Taliban Falter As Taliban Refuses Cease-Fire

Commentary by Jim Campbell
This is nothing but another attempted face-saving charade on behalf of the clueless Obama Administration as they desperately go to their usual strategy of  “cut and run.”
While US negotiators  come home and talk of victory the entire world knows the US has sold out the Afghan people and they will soon be once again under the oppression of Shari law.
These guy live to fight and are prepared to do so for the rest of their wretched lives.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.

One bit of good news in this is that the U.S. actually demanded substantive action from the Taliban and not just words, as prior reports implied. An update on this story. “US, Taliban talks on prisoner swap falter,” by Mustaf Yusufzai for NBC News January 29:

A temporary cease fire?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Talks between the Afghan Taliban and the United States in Qatar almost failed as the Taliban leadership reportedly refused to accept the U.S. demand of a ceasefire before swapping prisoners.

Sources in the Afghan Taliban said the Taliban had set up an office in Qatar hoping that it would help in a prisoners’ swap, especially for their five top commanders held at the Guantanamo Bay base since 2002.

The Taliban sources said their talks with the U.S. had been going for the past few years in exchange for an American soldier, Bowe Bergdahl, captured by Taliban militants in Afghanistan’s Paktika province in June 2009, bordering Pakistan’s South Waziristan.

US Indicts Singaporeans And Iranian In Alleged Bomb Plot

by Women Against Shariah
From the Telegraph:

US justice officials said on Tuesday they had indicted four Singaporeans and an Iranian for exporting radio equipment to Iran, for roadside bombs in Iraq.

At least 16 radio antennas were found in unexploded improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Iraq, the US Justice Department said in a statement, noting that the Iranian suspect in the case is still at large.

The US military has repeatedly accused Shiite militias in Iran of conducting bomb attacks in neighbouring Iraq in an attempt to foment sectarian hatred.

The indictment said thousands of antennas were meant to be exported from the United States to Iran, and in addition to the four Singaporeans, four companies from the southeast Asian nation had been charged in the alleged plot.

“Yesterday, authorities in Singapore arrested Wong Yuh Lan (Wong), Lim Yong Nam (Nam), Lim Kow Seng (Seng), and Hia Soo Gan Benson (Hia), all citizens of Singapore, in connection with a US request for extradition,” the statement said.

“The United States is seeking their extradition to stand trial in the District of Columbia,” it said.

“The remaining individual defendant, Hossein Larijani, is a citizen and resident of Iran who remains at large.”

Seattle: Hertz Fires 25 Muslim Drivers In Dispute Over Clocking Out For Prayer Breaks

 by Women Against Shariah
Comment by Jim Campbell
Maybe it’s me but where do these ungrateful very ignorant Muslims get off coming to America and demanding we bend to their rituals. This is not a freedom of expression or speech issue, where by ‘Congress shall pass not law inhibiting the freedom of religion.’
First, Congress isn’t involved.  It’s a private company.  If these rag heads don’t like it here no one is forcing them to live among us.
As an aside have coptic Christians had much luck in their third world hell holes asking Muslims to refrain from burning down their churches or killing them.  It’s progressives in this country that need some time living in Eurasia.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.

Hertz has tried to make reasonable accommodations, including a prayer room. As a Hertz spokesman explained, “this issue arose when breaks for prayers were extended for unacceptably long periods beyond 10 minutes for nonreligious activities.”

Initially suspended then fired when they refused to comply?

In that regard, the refusal to compromise gives the appearance that this case is ultimately about putting prayer breaks and the amount of paid time taken for them beyond the oversight of supervisors, in a way that would not be afforded to non-Muslim workers.

“Hertz fires 25 Muslim drivers who refuse to clock out,” by Lornet Turnbull for the Seattle Times,

Hertz is firing 25 Muslim drivers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport who have refused to agree to clock out for daily breaks during which they normally pray.

Muslims To Obama: We’re Not Into You

The following editorial is from The Washington Times:

President Obama is attempting to salvage his flagging Middle East strategy. In his scheduled speech today on the events in the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Obama may also try to claim a measure of credit for the changes sweeping the region. This will be a tough sell, especially to the supermajorities of people in that part of the world who simply don’t like America.

The latest polling from the Pew Research Center’s Global Attitude Project shows that Mr. Obama’s much-heralded outreach to the Muslim world has failed. In Egypt, site of the June 2009 Cairo speech that kicked off the effort, the United States has a 20 percent favorability rating, seven points below where it was in 2009.

Former Member Of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Says Iran Uses Mosques In U.S. And Europe To Plot Jihad Terror

Jihad Watch:

There is no surprise in this, except for those Westerners who buy the politically correct line that mosques are benign houses of worship that are never used for any nefarious purposes. In reality, mosques have been used to preach hatred; to spread exhortations to terrorist activity; to house a bomb factory; to store weapons; to disseminate messages from bin Laden; to demand (in the United States) that non-Muslims conform to Islamic dietary restrictions; to fire on American troops; to fire upon Indian troops; or to train jihadists.

“Iran Using Western Mosques to Plot Terrorism?,” from CBN, December 16:

[...] Reza Khalili: Mosques are supposed to be a place for prayer. A place for submission to God. But they are used as a recruitment center, for backdoor meetings, transfer of arms and cash and putting together terrorist activities and I was involved in some of their meetings.

Muslim Woman Won’t Remove Scarf For Jail Photo

More demands for special treatment…. What is more ironic in this case is that the woman in question pleaded guilty to alcohol violation but claims to be a devout Muslim. Not so different from the waitress who sued over a pub uniform, claiming it was indecent, while her Facebook photos showed her in low-cut tank tops.

From CBS 4:

A Muslim woman who refused to remove her headscarf for a Boulder County jail booking photo has been told she’ll have to explain her refusal to a judge.

Maria Hardman, 19, of Boulder, who says she converted to Islam three years ago, pleaded guilty to an alcohol violation and was sentenced to two days in jail plus community service.

Oklahoma City Judge Extends Ban On Prohibition Of Sharia Law

Women Against Shariah on
From Jihad Watch

As U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange does the bidding of Hamas-linked CAIR, does she really know anything about what Sharia is or how it contradicts the U.S. Constitution in numerous important particulars? “Oklahoma City judge extends ban on prohibition of Sharia Law,” from NewsOK, November 22 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

An Oklahoma City federal judge today extended a temporary ban on implementation of a constitutional amendment that prohibits state courts from considering international or Islamic law.

Founder Of Islamic Charity Convicted Funneling $150,000 To Chechen Mujahideen

Women Against Shariah

After a week-long trial, a federal court in Eugene, Oregon has convicted Pete Seda [pictured], the founder of an Islamic charity accused of funneling $150,000 to Chechen mujahideen.

Seda, also known as Pirouz Sedaghaty, was charged with conspiring to move money out of the United Sates without declaring it, as required by federal law, and with filing false tax returns to hide the fact that the money ever existed. According to federal officials, Seda accepted a large donation intended to support “our Muslim brothers in Chychnia,” and then surreptitiously shifted the money to Saudi Arabia in the form of difficult to trace traveler’s checks.

Note that one of the workers says he won’t work at the site after learning about the radical Islamic sympathies of the proposed mosque’s spiritual leadership (who also think a gay bar near their mosque would be an insult).

The Left, the Mosque and Islam

By Barrett Kalellis – The Daily Caller

Editorial Comment:  With liberals, is there no irony to the concept that they seem to be for all things Islam in the name of “sensitivity” yet they are mute when Christianity is under attack?

The current controversy in New York City over the construction of an “Islamic Center” at Ground Zero reveals a lot more about leftists in positions of influence – Democratic

politicians, pundits and others who should know better – and demonstrates their total lack of understanding of political Islam and the increasing danger it represents for all of America.
Perhaps it might be a great idea for the liberal elite to become familiar with Islam.
To do so they might begin to understand Robert Spencer’s recent findings that 80%
of the 3000 mosques in America preach radical Jihad. (see here)
Bleeding heart liberals like NYC Mayor Bloomberg and N.Y. Congressmen Jerrold Nadler and Anthony Weiner and even Senator Charles Schumer have been falling all over themselves, declaring that “freedom of religion” demands that the Muslims have a right to build their edifice anywhere they want, in spite of overwhelming opposition by New Yorkers and the rest of the country.
