Israel warned the United Nations Security Council on Thursday not to allow a new flotilla to sail to Gaza, saying that the flotilla organizers had “ties to Hamas and other terrorist organizations.”

Another flotilla to Gaza is being planned for May, one year after Israel’s deadly raid on the aid flotilla that sailed from Turkey.

Tehran, Iran (CNN) — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blamed the West for unrest bubbling throughout the Middle East and North Africa in a speech Monday on Iran’s National Army Day.

“They are trying to foment discord in the region. Actually, the West expended considerable blood and treasure to try to prevent Sunni/Shi’ite strife in Iraq. To no avail, of course.

The most persistent myth of the Western Dhimmi narrative is that Muslims are a minority and must receive special protection and accommodation. But Muslims are not a minority. There are 1.5 billion Sunni Muslims worldwide, outweighing Catholics as the next largest religious faction at 1.1 billion and Hindus at 1 billion. They are still a minority of the overall population in Western countries, but a demographically trending majority.

In the UK more people attend mosques than the Church of England, that makes Muslims the largest functioning religious group there. Mohammed was the most popular baby name last year, ahead of Jack and Harry. In France, in this generation, more mosques have been built than Catholic churches and in southern France there are already more mosques than churches. Mohammed-Amine is the most popular double name, ahead of Jean-Baptiste, Pierre-Louis, Leo-Paul and Mohammed-Ali.

Still Completely Clueless about Sharia

Now, in a ruling that even he thinks needs some explaining, Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen has given them an example. Nielsen decided to allow Islamic law to prevail in a civil dispute over a mosque between Muslims.

“This case,” the judge wrote, “will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law.”

Technically, say legal experts, that’s ok if the parties agreed ahead of time to arbitrate under Islamic law (or any other set of agreed-upon codes) — as long as the law or codes used for arbitration don’t conflict with state or federal statutes or the constitution of Florida or the United States.

But the defendants say Nielsen’s ruling is just that — a violation of the First Amendment protection against official state sanction of religion. They’ve appealed.

Regardless of the particulars of the case, the blogosphere and anti-Sharia advocates say this proves that the Metz/Hays bill is a must. Nielsen has tried to clarify his comments by issuing a rare opinion Tuesday. But it probably is too late for that. It’s politically tough to argue that Sharia isn’t working its way into the court system when a judge happens to recognize and virtually condone Sharia.

Maybe the ruling is ok in the court of law. But in the court of public opinion that dominates the Legislature, this is the type of case that can help turn a bill into a law.

The Department of Defense announced today that Ibrahim al Qosi was sentenced to 14 years in confinement for conspiracy and providing material support to al Qaeda.

The sentencing hearing took place in a military commission courtroom at the U.S. Naval Station at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. It follows al Qosi’s guilty plea in July. During his guilty plea, al Qosi admitted that he engaged in hostilities against the United States in violation of the laws of war. He admitted that he intentionally supported al Qaeda since at least 1996, when Osama bin Laden issued an order urging his followers to commit acts of terrorism against the United States.

DHS Caught and Released 481 ‘Fugitive’ Illegals from State Sponsors of Terror and ‘Countries of Interest’

Al-Qaeda urged soldiers to help topple the Saudi monarchy and kill Christians and government officials in the kingdom, said someone purporting to be a leader of the group in a recording.

Al-Qaeda ordered supporters in the Saudi army to “collect information on everything related to the Saudi royal family” in an effort to dethrone them, a speaker identified as Saeed al- Shihri said in an Arabic-language recording posted today on a website that often carries al-Qaeda statements. The identity of the speaker could not immediately be verified.

At this point, the question about CAIR should be: Why does anyone care? Care about anything CAIR officials say, that is.

The notorious Council on American-Islamic Relations is back up to its old tricks. CAIR officials figure our ten-minute attention span has lapsed, and that we’ve probably forgotten by now that, in the 2007–08 prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) — a case in which several Islamists were convicted in a scheme that poured millions of dollars into the coffers of the terrorist organization Hamas — CAIR was named as, and shown to be, an unindicted co-conspirator. CAIR reckons that the heat is off, so it’s back on the “Islamophobia” soapbox, demanding an apology from FBI director Robert Mueller.

The current controversy in New York City over the construction of an “Islamic Center” at Ground Zero reveals a lot more about leftists in positions of influence – Democratic

Perhaps it might be a great idea for the liberal elite to become familiar with Islam.

To do so they might begin to understand Robert Spencer’s recent findings that 80%

of the 3000 mosques in America preach radical Jihad. (see here)

Bleeding heart liberals like NYC Mayor Bloomberg and N.Y. Congressmen Jerrold Nadler and Anthony Weiner and even Senator Charles Schumer have been falling all over themselves, declaring that “freedom of religion” demands that the Muslims have a right to build their edifice anywhere they want, in spite of overwhelming opposition by New Yorkers and the rest of the country.
