Are Our Tax Dollars Paying For Ground Zero Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s Trip To Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar?

JAWA Report

Read about this from Claudia Rosett here[Forbes] & here[Pajamas Media]

Ultimately, in response to repeated questions, a member of Rauf’s New York Cordoba Initiative foundation e-mailed me Friday, saying that Rauf’s trip to the Middle East, “in the near future,” will be hosted by the U.S. government as part of an outreach program to “bring the message of moderation, peace and understanding.”

Rauf refuses to call Hamas a terrorist group/blames US for 9/11 and our State Dept is sending him on a bridge building mission to the ME. Again, WTF?

rauf_flag.jpg

At the State Department, which presumably will be spending taxpayer money on Rauf’s tour, I have yet to receive confirmation or any other information about his program, despite three days of my repeated requests by phone and e-mail. Apparently it is taking a while for State’s Bureau of Public Diplomacy to get “clearance” to release any details of this particular public outreach effort, though Rauf’s wife says it has been in the works for months.

The Islam I Left Behind

By Amil Imani

Looking back, I see no particular time or event that, in one stroke, severed my link with Islam. There was nothing nearly as dramatic as what reportedly happened to Paul on the road to Damascus transforming him from a rabid Christian persecutor to a devoted follower of Jesus.

My alienation from Islam started as far back as I could discern things. More to the point, I never embraced Islam in the first place, although I was born and raised in a Muslim family.

Sharia Law in Canada and Britain

By Eileen F. Toplansky

The American Thinker

The spread of Sharia Law to the entire world is part of jihad. In Canada and Britain, jihad is advancing.

A June 2010 report entitled “Sharia Law in Britain: A Threat to One Law for All and Equal Rights” begins with Secretary General of the Islamic Sharia Council Suhaib Hasan saying, “If Sharia law is implemented, then you can turn this country [Great Britain] into a haven of peace because once a thief’s hand is cut off nobody is going to steal.”  Furthermore, “once just only once, if an adulterer is stoned nobody is going to commit this crime at all,” and finally, “We want to offer it to the British society.  If they accept it, it is for their good and if they don’t accept it they’ll need more and more prisons.”

This perverse logic is illustrative of the brutality that is sharia law’s penal code.  The writers of the Report have compiled evidence of “the discriminatory nature of these courts and make recommendations for curtailing sharia and religious tribunals on the basis that they work against and not for equality, and are incompatible with human rights.” The authors explain that “whilst there is an obvious difference between stoning a woman to death and denying her the right to divorce and child custody, the fundamentals and misogyny behind sharia‘s civil and penal codes are the same ~ it is just a matter of degree. It is deceptive, or at best a mistake, not to see the civil aspects of sharia law as part of and an extension of its penal code.”

If Obama were to Debate Ahmadinejad?

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently challenged Barack Obama to a televised debate, “to see who has the best solutions for the world’s problems.” And what should be on the table for items of debate in such a face off…

Obama meets Ahmadinejad

The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, recently challenged the American president, Barack Obama, to a televised debate, “to see who has the best solutions for the world’s problems.” Many Iranians themselves would likely view the diminutive man’s blustering as completely laughable, since civil rights activists have been complaining for decades now that the Iranian government is an oppressively tyrannical regime that has tortured and slaughtered thousands. The lack of human rights all around and the status of women in that nation are deplorable, including institutionalized sex slavery justified in the name of Islam. Iranian/Persian freedom fighters claim that they are under Islamic rule against their will, and millions, it is said, want to leave the religion but are afraid of the death penalty for apostasy.

According to an article in Reuters entitled, “Iran’s Ahmadinejad calls for TV debate with Obama,” Ahmadinejad remarked:

Koran Tutoring Available, the Sharia way

Logans Warning

If anyone is interested, there is no need to travel to Saudi Arabia, or Iran. Just take a trip to Jamaica Queens NY and get a tutor to teach you the Koran, within the Islamic rules (Sharia). The other day I took a trip into Queens to look around, and I made a stop at a pizza place. When I got the pizza I went back outside to eat it, and happened to notice this flyer on the lamppost in front of me.

Then on the same block, I saw this person walk by.

Many of the followers of Islam do not assimilate, instead they want the Islamic way of life to become the norm for America. It is up to us to stop that from happening. Since that day I have called the number on the flyer a couple of times, but have only gotten an answering machine. If I can get them on the line, and ask them some questions I will put up another post.

Protestors denounce planned mosque in Temecula

Rob McMillin

TEMECULA, Calif. (KABC) — Demonstrators clashed Friday over the proposed construction of a mosque right next to a church in Temecula.

As worshippers at the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley arrived to pray, a small but vocal group of about two dozen protestors waved American flags and shouted through bullhorns, denouncing a plan to build a new mosque in another part of the Riverside County town.

“I have witnessed what happens to many nations in the world by the expansion of Islamic ideology,” said Mano Bakh, author of Escaping Islam. “They destroy the community, they destroy the country.”

Sharia in a First Amendment Society

William Kirpactrick

FrontPage.

Steve Chapman, a columnist for the Chicago Tribune, has a piece in Human Events criticizing Sarah Palin for her opposition to building a mosque at Ground Zero. His argument seems to be that in guaranteeing freedom of religion, the First Amendment guarantees that all religions be treated identically. Therefore, argues Chapman, if you would allow evangelical Christians to build a church near Ground Zero, you must allow Muslims to build their mosque and community center—otherwise you are guilty of employing a double standard.

But the double standard only applies if you are dealing with two equivalent individuals or groups. You’re not guilty of using a double standard if you give the keys to your car to your sixteen-year-old child but not to your six-year-old. Likewise, if you support your own children but refuse to support your neighbor’s children, no one will accuse you of employing a double standard. In both these examples the two groupings are similar in many ways (your children, your neighbor’s children) but are different in crucial ways.

The Brothel Named Iran?

Dr. Michael Ledeen

Faith Freedom

I’ll bet you haven’t seen very much news about Iran during the past week or 10 days, have you? And yet there’s lots of news:

·         First of all, there is still no end to the bazaar strike, even though the regime has taken very violent action against the strikers. A large part of the beautiful bazaar in Kerman has been torched (for that matter, regime thugs have taken to setting ablaze large sections of forest land in the region.) Nor will the bazaar strikes end soon, since this week marks religious celebrations that traditionally close the bazaars all over the country.

Recently torched Kerman bazaar

·         The major natural gas pipeline between Iran and Turkey was sabotaged. Enormous damage was done, and the authorities have no estimate as to how long it will be until repair work is finished. Meanwhile the two countries announced plans for a brand-new pipeline.

FBI defends surveillance guidelines allegedly targeting Muslims

By PETE YOST

Arab News

WASHINGTON: Under fire from US civil liberties groups, the FBI is defending domestic surveillance guidelines that critics fear could unfairly target innocent Muslims in terrorism and other criminal investigations.

“It’s quite an invasive data collection system,” said Farhana Khera, executive director of the nonprofit group Muslim Advocates. “It’s based on generalized suspicion and fear on the part of law enforcement, not on individualized evidence of criminal activity.”

ACLU to change name to Arab Civil Liberties Union

Khera spoke in an interview on the eve of a Capitol Hill appearance by FBI Director Robert Mueller, who was scheduled to testify Wednesday to the Senate Judiciary Committee. In a statement, the bureau said its procedures are designed to ensure that FBI probes don’t zero in on anyone on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion or the exercise of any other constitutional right.

Quotes About Islam

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini

“Those who know nothing about Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those people are witless. Islam says: ‘Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all!’ Does this mean that Muslims should sit back until they are devoured by the infidel? Islam says: ‘Kill them, put them to the sword and scatter them.’ Islam says: ‘Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword.’ The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for the Holy Warriors! Does all this mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”

Sir Winston Churchill

“Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step…”

Burmese leader in India kneels before the Buddha as troops shell Christian village

INDIA – MYANMAR

by Tint Swe

Asia News

Senior General Than Shwe has been in India since Sunday to sign economic agreements. On the first day of his visit, he travelled to Bodh Gaya and Sarnath, two important pilgrimage sites related to the life of Gautama Buddha. Two days earlier, the Burmese military wiped out a Christian village in Karen State, eastern Myanmar.

New Delhi (AsiaNews) – Soldiers from the Burmese Army attacked Tha Dah Der, a Christian village in Karen State, eastern Myanmar, on 23 July, burning 50 homes, a school and a church. Over 600 villagers fled in the jungle as the army advanced, joining 300 more from neighbouring villages who had also abandoned their homes in fear.

The incident was made public today, whilst Myanmar’s strongman Senior General Than Shwe, is in India to sign economic agreements. The Burmese dictator arrived in New Delhi last Sunday. The first thing he did was to visit the towns of Bodh Gaya (Bihar) and Sarnath (Uttar Pradesh), places closely connected to the life of Gautama Buddha.

Indonesia: Missionaries expelled for baptisms, converts from Islam sent to re-education camp

Jihad Watch

Robert Spencer

In the West, Islamic spokesmen always insist that Islam supports the freedom of conscience, and the freedom to change one’s religion. These people must be reading that notorious Misunderstood Qur’an. Islamic Tolerance Alert from modern, moderate Indonesia: “Missionary trio leave Aceh after anger at baptisms,” by Toni O’Loughlin in the Sydney Morning Herald, July 24 (thanks to Stewart):

JAKARTA: A US family accused of converting Muslims by giving them Christian baptisms has been forced to leave the Islamic Indonesian territory of Aceh.Three Indonesians have also been arrested for assisting and the three alleged converts have been sent to a pesantran, an Islamic school, for re-education.
